Eating at Applebee’s would not put a strain on your wallet.  Applebee’s has a reasonably priced menu that appeals to people of all ages, young and old.  And they also have a special kid’s menu. At most Applebee’s restaurants ‘kids eat for free’ deal is offered on Mondays or Tuesdays. So what do you get in the deal?  For each adult entree purchase, you can get one free kids’ meal.  If you have a big family, additional kids are just $1.00.

The kids’ menu at Applebees includes mini cheeseburgers, grilled cheese sandwich, chicken fingers, hot dogs or fried shrimp and Kraft macaroni & cheese – each served with a soft drink and side dish of your choice – French fries, celery with ranch dressing, steamed broccoli etc.  Not all locations offer this ‘kids eat for free deal, so you have to call the restaurant in your location to see if they offer this deal and confirm the day too!  Generally there is a age limit of 10 or 12 depending on the location; you better make sure that your kids are below the age limit.

Kids Eat for Free – Fourth of July, Halloween, Easter, Labor day

Applebees also offer ‘Kids eat free’ deal on some special days like the Halloween, July4 , Labor day and Easter.  These offers are valid for dine-in only, however, some locations may also offer 20% off all carside to go orders.  Make sure you call ahead and see if your applebee’s is participating.  To get the discount on Halloween, remember that the kids must be in costume.  Up to 4 kids can get free meals on Halloween when accompanied by an adult ordering an entree.

However, here’s  a word of caution.  Like most American restaurants, the kid’s menu at Applebee’s also has moderately high calories in some menu items.  For example, the Applebee’s Grilled Cheese sandwich alone has more than 600 calories!  The Chicken Fingers are a much better choice, with fewer calories and less fat.  And you should also avoid the fries when it comes to the side dish.
